Role and responsibilities
The Non-Destructive Test Technician (Aviation) EN4179/NAS 410 Level II will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of NDT inspections on Aircraft and components in accordance with his/her Applus UK LTD approvals, working to customer/supplier OEM inspection data, providing timely and high-quality inspections for customers both in house and on site (this may involve frequent travel to customer sites at home and abroad).
* Ensure day to day NDT requirements from the Client are managed as per the priorities of the Client in carrying out inspections of customer aircraft and components on site and are completed strictly in accordance with customer work instructions
* Accountable for aspects of each work assignment to ensure the safe and effective completion of work on time and within allocated time
* Ensure all relevant Quality, Technical and Health & Safety procedures are complied with on site
* Ensure all relevant calibration, control and maintenance checks are performed on instruments on site and recorded
* Ensure all work is certified correctly in accordance with customer purchase order requirements
* Report on any matters which may have a significant impact on department performance directly to the Aviation Team Leader/Operations Manager
* You will be responsible for completing accurate job packs and time sheets which include all relevant invoice information which will be passed on to the Aviation Team Leader /Aviation Operations Manager daily
* As demanded by the Aviation industry, you will provide the highest quality inspection service, assuring our customers have a sense of trust and security
* You will provide customers with all necessary documentation following inspection (EASA CAA and FAA and Applus NDT test report etc.) and will present themselves to the customer as per Applus internal Quality procedures
* You will support the implementation of continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives within their facility and will assist the Aviation Operations Manager in new initiatives
Qualifications and experiences
* Has minimum of 2 years aeronautical experience in the field of Aviation Maintenance
* Minimum of 12 months practical experience in NDT maintenance as Level 2
* Good command of verbal and written English
* On-Wing Experience in a Part 145 Maintenance Organisation
* Hold at least 1 approval (PT, MT, ET or UT Level 2) as a minimum, qualified and certified in accordance with EN4179/NAS410 or alternative standards/guidelines accepted by the applicable National Aviation Authority
* Strong attention to detail and high integrity with responsible attitude to airworthiness and the need for accuracy during testing and process control activities
* Computer literate with good communication skills
* Available for overseas travel if required from time to time to support our Client/OEMs
* Committed to work on shift/weekend on call system
* Be willing to work overtime if required
* Be self-directed, a team player with excellent problem-solving skills
* Be practical and well organised with a positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team and on your own initiative
