Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service in line with Mitie and Waitrose values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with all policies, legal, and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
2. Engage fully with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management, utilizing all provided technology, including body cams and mobile devices, for incident reporting.
3. Complete all site tasks and duties as outlined in the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).
4. Review and familiarize oneself with any updates to the Assignment Instructions, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
5. Maintain compliance with Industry and Statutory Legislation by wearing the required front-line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times, along with any additional mandated courses.
6. Work systematically and methodically.
Training:
1. Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
2. Undertake ongoing training for self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
3. Utilize technology to meet work objectives and enhance professional knowledge through continuous development.
4. Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety:
1. Report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards immediately.
2. Remain alert to threats or environmental changes and respond appropriately to prevent disruption, loss, or damage.
3. Exercise common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
4. Maintain professional conduct during challenging situations and with difficult customers.
5. Record incidents accurately and promptly for reporting purposes.
6. Adhere to schedules, including check calls as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
Previous Security Experience and Requirements:
1. Hold a valid SIA License.
2. Possess excellent communication skills at all levels.
3. Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm.
