Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Clinical Psychologist to join the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) Inpatient Mental Health Service, which is currently undergoing a three‑year transformation. If you are passionate about improving inpatient services and supporting the development of trauma‑informed, person‑centred practice on the wards, please apply. The role is a 0.6 WTE Consultant Clinical Psychologist position across the Mental Health inpatient wards, working as part of an Older Adult Inpatient and Urgent Care sub‑directorate with a supportive and friendly team that includes two Consultant Clinical Psychologists, a Principal Clinical Psychologist, five senior psychologists, an assistant psychologist and a research assistant.
Responsibilities
* Assist the inpatient wards in becoming more psychologically informed, providing leadership, consultation and supervision for colleagues working with mental‑health inpatient services.
* Collaborate on the provision of psychological interventions, including therapeutic groups, case formulation and ward reflective practice.
* Contribute to protected learning for the teams and provide psychological advice to senior management regarding psychological services and the wider inpatient teams.
* Support strategic developments in trauma‑informed and person‑centred practice on the wards.
* Engage in the implementation of innovative psychological ideas such as EMDR provision, reflective practice groups, trauma‑informed wards and recovery‑focused approaches.
* Work closely with senior clinicians to shape services and pathways and to embed psychological thinking at all levels of service development.
