As an Audit Manager, your role will extend beyond traditional auditing—you're not just reviewing numbers, but building meaningful client relationships, understanding their businesses, and delivering actionable insights that make a real impact. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors, including Private Equity-backed (PE) companies, Owner-managed Businesses (OMB), Technology, and Construction industries. Key Responsibilities: Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and maximising fee income through the delivery of services. Audit Planning & Review: Plan, control, and review client work to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and effectively. Allocate resources appropriately to meet deadlines and targets. Client Engagement: Hold pre-audit meetings to understand clients' business changes and identify key areas of focus. Budgeting & Time Management: Prepare time budgets for each assignment to ensure efficiency, setting realistic goals to optimise profitability. Staff Development & Management: Allocate a variety of jobs to trainees, ensuring broad exposure to different tasks. Complete appraisals and sign off training records for all allocated staff, helping develop their skills and effectiveness. Feedback & Performance Improvement: Provide constructive feedback after each job to identify areas for improvement, ensuring continuous growth and better future performance. Business Development: Identify opportunities for additional services that can be provided to clients and actively seek new client leads through networking, marketing, and client referrals. Ad-hoc Projects: Work on special projects, including compliance and value-added services, as required. Requirements What We’re Looking For: ACA or ACCA Qualified with experience in practice. Proven experience at Manager level within an accountancy firm. Proficient in using computer packages such as Excel, Word, Sage, Alpha Tax, CaseWare, and VPM/Central. Demonstrable management experience with the ability to effectively delegate and oversee a team. Strong client focus with a commercially aware mindset. Excellent communication skills—both oral and written—with the ability to engage with a variety of people. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
