Acting NHVS Manager
We are seeking an Acting NHVS Manager to join our School. The Acting New Hall Voluntary Service (NHVS) Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the School’s voluntary service programme. This is a fixed‑term role for up to 12 months. Reporting to a Vice Principal, the postholder works closely with the NHVS core group, students, volunteers, and wider stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the School’s charitable objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the smooth running of all NHVS events, including activities involving visiting groups, in line with the School’s charitable aims
* Organise fundraising initiatives and group events, including the preparation and distribution of promotional materials
* Prepare and manage NHVS rotas, ensuring adequate cover at all times
* Manage communications with adult supporters, volunteers, minibus drivers, and student volunteers
* Undertake the recruitment and interview process for student volunteer leaders
* Keep Heads of Divisions and Tutors informed about student volunteer engagement
* Chair regular NHVS meetings
* Process donations in line with regulatory requirements
* Work with the Operations Department to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
* Achieve and maintain Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation
* Be responsible for the NHVS budget, including ordering kitchen supplies, stationery, and other resources
* Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure effective budget control
* Contribute ideas for cost‑saving initiatives
* Promote sustainability and minimise waste
* Ensure all Health & Safety documentation is completed, including accident reporting procedures and risk assessments for events, and ensure appropriate actions are taken
* Assist the Health & Safety Officer in maintaining compliance with regulations
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of students in line with the School’s Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
* Report any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
* Uphold and actively support the Catholic ethos, mission, and values of the School
* Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by the Principal
* Contribute to the wider life of the School and support its mission and aims
* Participate in the annual review and development of the role
Essential Qualifications
* Educated to A Level standard (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of and commitment to Catholic education
* Demonstrated commitment to charitable work and fostering a spirit of service
* Proven administrative experience in a fast‑paced environment
* Excellent communication, organisational, and management skills
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
* Awareness of data protection and safeguarding requirements
* Ability to motivate others and build effective teams
* Flexible and adaptable in response to change and development
Desirable
* Practising Catholic, able to give active and effective witness to the faith
* Experience working in an education setting
* Experience working in the charity/voluntary sector
