Job overview
A post is available for a clinical congenital myasthenia fellow to work in a highly specialised service team, covering patients across the UK, based in Oxford with some outreach sites. The applicant will gain expertise in neuro muscular diseases: adult and paediatric, and are encouraged to increase their research portfolio including publications, presentations and a higher degree. The position would suit those seeking a career in either neurology, paediatric neurology or neurophysiology. In addition to the Oxford Consultant Neurologst and paediatric neurology and outreach consultants there is a specialist nurse, specialist physiotherapist and administrator. The team works closely with the Oxford NHS genetics team and the Nuffield department of clinical neurology CMS genetic research team in the university. Main duties of the job
The service offers a diagnostic service, emergency and routine advise on diagnosis and treatment. In addition, phone and email advice is provided to doctors, patients, families and their carers. This single UK service has one of the largest cohort of patients in the world and the post holder will be involved in audit and research too.
