Location: Plymouth, Devonport Royal Dockyard - enjoy the flexibility of some remote working, with an on-site expectation of just 3 days a week.
Hours: 45 hours per week - we value work-life balance and offer flexibility, so just let us know your preferences when we chat!
Important Note: Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which may take up to 8 weeks. Please be aware that we cannot offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.
Your Role
As a Quantity Surveyor with KierBAM, you will be at the heart of an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. Your contributions will be crucial in ensuring the commercial success of this significant venture, all while collaborating with a supportive team in a positive environment.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Manage commercial performance, including financial forecasting and maximizing cash flow.
* Prepare monthly cost reports and analyze trends with the wider contract team.
* Build strong relationships with subcontractors through effective procurement, negotiation, and account management.
* Implement contract change control procedures and communicate effectively with clients.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks while ensuring compliance with Kier Group's risk management policies.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
* You hold relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC, BSc, MSc), with professional accreditation (RICS, ICE) being a plus.
* You have experience with NEC contracts and are comfortable using systems like CEMAR, Coins, or Causeway.
* You thrive as a collaborative team player who enjoys nurturing relationships within diverse teams.
* You possess excellent organizational skills and can communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally.
* You are proficient with MS Office, especially Excel, and can manage data with precision.
