Job Description

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*? Job Title:

Construction Teacher


Location:

Meadowcroft School, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF1 4AD


Salary:

Up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)


Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Contract:

Permanent, Term Time only

About the Role

Due to continued growth, Meadowcroft School is seeking a passionate and skilled Construction Teacher to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver a practical, engaging, and personalised curriculum to pupils with complex learning needs.

Our learners thrive on creative, hands-on experiences. You'll be working in a flexible curriculum environment, using excellent facilities to plan and deliver motivating lessons that support progress, independence, and confidence.


Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver practical construction lessons tailored to individual needs
* Plan engaging, differentiated learning activities
* Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging high expectations
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils with additional needs
* Contribute to wider school development and attend relevant training
* Uphold safeguarding duties and school policies


What We're Looking For:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
* Strong belief in every child’s potential to achieve
* Resilience and initiative in a dynamic school environment
* Experience managing challenging behaviour positively
* Excellent planning, communication, and classroom practice
* Team-focused with a commitment to professional development
* Ability to create structured, supportive learning environments
