Rushcliffe PCN islooking to recruit a newly qualified, (within 2 years of CCT date & nothaving held a substantive post before) enthusiastic & forward-thinking GP tojoin our General Practice team in central Rushcliffe.
You will be required towork 2 sessions within one of our south practices The Ruddington MedicalCentre, in Ruddington, Nottingham. We are a very supportive PCN & willsupport you to work by providing a Clinical Director as a mentor. This is agreat opportunity to get to know our practices and will provide the successfulcandidate with experience working within general practice.
Main duties of the job
Rushcliffe PCN is alarge rural PCN providing services to 140,000 patients. Our 11 eleven practicesform 3 smaller localities: North, South & Central.
All our practices arerated good or outstanding with CQC & the majority are training practices.
The role is to workwithin The Ruddington medical Practice as part of the practice team

Accountable toPCN Clinical Director
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The post-holder will manage a clinical caseload and deal with awide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the higheststandards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Responsibilitieswill reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subjectto change as services adapt.
Clinical Responsibilities
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of dutiesincluding face to face, telephone and online consultations and queries,visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions anddealing with queries paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs ofillness
In consultation with patients and in line with current practicedisease management protocols, developing care plans for health
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload andreferring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreedstandards
Clinical Responsibilities
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribingformulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all thenormal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primarycare.
Completion of medical reports (including NHS and privateservices as required)
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practicepolicies/guidelines, e.g.prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, healthand safety
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensureevidence-based best practice
Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard settingwithin the organisation

Using personal security systems within the workplace accordingto practice guidelines
Awareness of national standards of infection control andcleanliness and regulatory /contractual / professional requirements, and goodpractice guidelines
Providing advice on the correct and safe management of thespecimens process including collection, labelling, handling, use of correct andclean containers, storage and transport arrangements
