The Medical Division at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are looking for experienced registered nurses who have a passion for the care of the older person.
Due to a recent ward reconfiguration we have an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed nursing team on Ward B5. Ward B5 is a medical ward providing care to all ages but particularly older people.
We are an innovative, supportive, hardworking, friendly team providing high standards of quality care. B5 is a 24 bedded inpatient ward (up to 33 beds during winter pressures) this is a great opportunity to join our new team. As a new member of the team you will be fully supported by the Matron, ward manager and deputy ward managers. Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, safe patient care by assessment of patient need and the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate care programmes. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the physical, social and psychological condition of the patient and /or carer from admission to discharge. Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework for nursing. Discuss and agree short, medium or long term goals, prioritise care and develop plans with the patient, family carer and health care team. Support patients/carers encouraging them to promote their own health and wellbeing and to express their interests and concerns. Provide support and care for the patient and his/her family respecting their need for privacy and dignity.
