Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, dementia care, or hospice care, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. All positions are paid, including internship opportunities.
Duties
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
* Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia or other health conditions
* Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
* Manage behaviour effectively and implement behaviour management strategies
* Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities using company vehicles
* Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress
* Support clients with activities of daily living to promote independence and well-being
Qualifications
* Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
* Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care
* Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
* Valid driving licence for client transportation duties
* Strong communication skills and compassionate nature
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Flexibility to work various shifts as required; some roles may involve evening or weekend work but generally focus on daytime hours
