Head of Financial Accounting
Sandwell | Hybrid | Up to £65,
This is a pivotal role within a growing and ambitious finance team, offering the opportunity to lead on year-end reporting, advise on technical accounting matters, and support the development of a high-performing team. What you’ll do
1. Provide leadership across the Financial Reporting & Regulatory Accounting function, supporting clarity of direction, effective communication, and staff development.
2. Act as the primary technical accounting expert, advising on regulations and supporting the Finance Director.
3. Ensure statutory accounts, VAT, and other financial returns are completed accurately and on time, incorporating outputs into relevant corporate reports.
4. Support the maintenance of strong financial controls, producing key reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
5. Manage a team of direct and indirect reports, promoting continuous professional development and training opportunities.
What you’ll need
6. Full accountancy qualification.
7. Up-to-date knowledge of financial legislation and experience producing full statutory accounts.
8. Experience in a complex finance environment.
9. Understanding of, or desire to develop expertise in, VAT.
