This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a growing and forward-thinking organisation in a key strategic role. The Category Manager will take ownership of defined spend categories, driving value through effective category strategies, supplier management, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and delivering category strategies aligned with business objectives
* Leading supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management activities
* Managing and developing relationships with key strategic suppliers
* Analysing spend, market trends, and supply risks to inform commercial decisions
* Working closely with internal stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and finance
* Driving continuous improvement across cost, quality, service, and sustainability
* Supporting manufacturing projects and new product introductions with effective sourcing solutions
* Ensuring procurement policies, governance, and best practice are followed
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Category Manager or Senior Buyer within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a track record of delivering value
* Experience managing complex spend categories and strategic suppliers
* The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
* Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem solving
* CIPS qualification or working towards this would be advantageous
