Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Operative to join our team on a part-time basis. Based out of our Portslade office, this role will support the compliance function, ensuring our engineers and wider team are working safely and in line with company policies and industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and review Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure they are accurate, up-to-date, and effectively implemented.
* Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with legal requirements.
* Provide first aid support when necessary and ensure that first aid kits are adequately stocked and maintained.
* Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, inspections, and audits, highlighting areas for improvement. Action and items required.
* Coordinate and track staff training requirements, ensuring certifications are up to date and arranging courses where necessary.
* Organise training sessions for staff on health and safety practices, including emergency procedures.
* Support incident investigations and reporting, helping to identify improvements and prevent recurrence.
* Collaborate with management to promote a proactive approach to workplace safety and health initiatives.
* Work closely with engineers to monitor adherence to health and safety standards on site and within daily operations.
* Use the supplied pool vehicle to carry out site visits and inspections as needed.
Experience & Requirements
* Proven experience in a safety role or similar position within an industrial, facilities, or corporate environment (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH) desirable but not essential.
* Certification in First Aid is highly desirable.
* Experience in conducting training sessions or workshops on health and safety topics is an advantage but not necessary.
* Full UK driving licence.

Pay: £26,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
