Overview
We have the opportunity for caring and compassionate individuals to join Ward 38 as Health Care Assistants to implement a high standard of care and ensure patient safety is paramount. This role is within an established, hard-working team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Registered Nurse in administering direct patient care.
* Communicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Discuss patient comfort and safety with patients and record communications on Wirral Millennium.
* Prioritise own workload.
* Inform qualified staff of changes in patients’ condition or observations.
* Escort and chaperone patients as appropriate.
* Communicate with patients and carers with consideration for individual needs.
* Undertake some clerical duties such as filing.
* Assist in ordering of supplies within agreed stock levels and ensure storage is correct.
* Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
* Assist in the safe handling of patients’ valuables and property.
* Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies, protocols and guidelines.
