Job Title: Part-Time SEN Teacher / ECT – Residential Setting
Location: L36 / L34 (Knowsley Area)
Hours: Part-Time – 9:00am to 3:30pm, Term-Time Only
Salary: £140–£180 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role: Milk Education is working in partnership with a specialist residential provision in the Knowsley area, supporting children and young people aged 7–16 with a range of SEN needs, many of whom are Looked After Children (LAC) or have experienced trauma and exclusion from mainstream education.
We are seeking a part-time Teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to small groups of pupils, typically no more than 6 per class. The role requires a nurturing, trauma-informed approach and a strong understanding of emotional and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver creative, accessible lessons across core subjects
2. Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP targets and learning styles
3. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement
4. Work closely with support staff and care teams to ensure holistic support
5. Create a safe, structured learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing
What We’re Looking For:
6. QTS or ECT status (SEND experience preferred but not essential)
7. Experience working with children with SEMH, autism, and learning difficulties
8. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
9. A nurturing, flexible teaching style with a trauma-informed mindset
10. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential due to location
