You will plan, organize, and direct the community activities, ensuring that the Recreation Center complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. You will Manage and control the execution of and administration of operating budget and exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. You will coordinate and assist with a variety of base-wide community and squadron events and work extensively with the Military & Family Readiness Center, Family Advocacy, and other base agencies to collaborate on programs that support Air Force Families. You will represent the Community Activities Program with a variety of installation and functional area organizations and create and coordinate marketing strategic plans and publicity for all Community Center programs. Qualifications and Key skills: A degree in general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban, or community recreation; special populations recreation OR One year specialized experience in the key skills as listed below: • Knowledge of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation, Community Activities/Events, and Force Support Squadron functions. • Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. • Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques to assist in the planning and implementing a recreational program offering a variety of community activities and events to a serviced community. • Knowledge of basic analysis elements to evaluate program efficiency and ability to adapt or correct existing programs to customer satisfaction. • Knowledge of common budgetary practices, procedures, regulations, and guidelines. Conditions of employment 1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential. 2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. 3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. 4. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies. Overtime may be required and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. 5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 6. Pre-Appointment physical/health screening is required. Appointment may be contingent upon passing a physical examination. The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
