Marine Electrician (Offshore)

Our client, a well‑established offshore services company, is seeking a Marine Electrician to join their team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background, experience working within marine or industrial environments, and the ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a wide range of AC/DC and LV electrical systems.
Position Details
* Permanent Position
* Salary: £43,000‑£49,000 per annum + company van
* Monday to Friday
* Aberdeen
Job Responsibilities
* Carry out installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of AC/DC and LV marine electrical systems and equipment
* Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on offshore and marine assets
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and compliance
* Install, terminate, and test electrical cabling, switchboards, control panels, motors, generators, and associated equipment
* Conduct inspection, testing, and commissioning of AC/DC and LV electrical systems
* Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
* Support commissioning, upgrades, and modification projects on electrical systems
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with offshore, marine, and electrical industry standards
* Liaise with clients, vessel crews, and internal departments to deliver projects effectively
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and certification documentation
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
* Time‑served Electrical Apprenticeship
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
* Minimum 5 years’ experience within the electrical or marine industry
* Experience working with AC/DC and LV electrical systems within marine, offshore, industrial, or heavy engineering environments
* Strong fault‑finding, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting skills
* Experience with motors, generators, switchboards, control panels, and distribution systems
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
* Experience with electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning activities
* Good understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements within offshore environments
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
