General Assistant
Location: Social Security Scotland
Salary: £13.45 per hour / 20 hours a week Monday - Thursday 10 - 3pm
Security: This post requires mandatory security clearance for building access.

Responsibilities
* Provide administrative and operational support to various departments, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
* Assist with general office duties, including filing, data entry, scheduling, and correspondence management.
* Support colleagues across the organisation by responding to queries and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of shared spaces and facilities to uphold workplace standards.
* Collaborate with team members to identify and implement solutions to operational challenges.
* Manage multiple priorities effectively, adapting to changing demands while maintaining attention to detail.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment for all colleagues.
* Comply with organisational policies, health and safety regulations, and relevant guidelines.
* Support the induction and integration of new team members where required.
* Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in responding to ad‑hoc requests and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a general support, administrative, or similar role (desirable).
* Excellent people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
* Reliable time‑keeping and professional demeanour.
* Solid attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
* Basic IT proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
