The Adult ADHD service is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic full‑time Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse to work within our Adult ADHD service to plan and deliver nurse‑led Adult ADHD clinics and interventions within a multi‑disciplinary and interagency framework. Responsibilities will also include prescribing and monitoring of medication for the management of ADHD under the guidance and supervision of medical staff, and the role includes assessment for and diagnosis of ADHD in adults.
The Adult ADHD service covers Liverpool, the Wirral, Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East localities. The core team is based at the Stein Centre, St Catherine’s Hospital, Birkenhead, though the contractual base is negotiable. Clinics will mainly be delivered across Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East.

Responsibilities
* Support service development by responding to local needs and establishing effective care pathways.
* Facilitate training for GPs and other primary‑care staff and offer yourself as a resource to secondary services.
* Establish performance‑monitoring systems for reporting purposes and be accountable for own practice.
* Operate nurse‑led clinics that assess and treat patients, referring when necessary to other healthcare professionals or services.
* Undertake independent and supplementary nurse prescribing.
* Manage the healthcare of complex or vulnerable individuals within the Adult ADHD Service.
* Screen patients for risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Provide overall responsibility for assessment planning, development, implementation and evaluation of individual care programmes within the Adult ADHD Service.
* Assist in developing assessment tools, training packs and pathways in accordance with NICE guidance.
* Comply with HSC 2000/026, Patient Group Directions and NMC Code of Conduct, and undertake prescribing of locally agreed treatments with established protocols.
* Offer supervision and reflective practice within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Set, monitor and evaluate standards of practice to ensure quality and effective governance.
* Use expertise in research‑based nursing practice and critical appraisal skills to inform clinical practice and underpin concepts for clinical governance and best practice.
Qualifications & Experience
* Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse experience.
* Clinical specialist knowledge in ADHD assessment, diagnosis and management of adults.
* Independent or supplementary nurse prescribing competence.
* Knowledge of HSC 2000/026, Patient Group Directions and NMC Code of Conduct.
* Experience in multi‑disciplinary, interagency service delivery.
* Strong skills in performance monitoring, quality governance and reflective practice.
