Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Materials Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in materials science and engineering, particularly in product development and quality control. The position involves contributing to diverse manufacturing projects, including plastics blow molding and injection molding, while ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will play a key role in advancing materials performance, improving processes, and supporting innovative product development.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct research and development to design new materials and enhance existing products.
* Use CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks, to design and model materials and components.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project scheduling with manufacturing timelines.
* Collect and analyze data to support and strengthen quality control processes.
* Apply mechanical knowledge in the fabrication of prototypes and final products.
* Ensure designs and processes comply with ASME codes and standards.
* Perform laboratory testing to evaluate material properties and performance.
* Implement GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) in design specifications.
* Oversee manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to best practices.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
* Experience with project scheduling methodologies.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastics blow molding and injection molding.
* Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on fabrication experience.
* Understanding of quality control principles and engineering standards.
* Ability to conduct thorough research and development activities.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
