About the role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help our difference be felt by our customers on every visit, providing the Partner-led service and passion for food that our competitors can't compete with - passionate Partners serving food lovers! Your drive to go the extra mile will make all the difference to the impression our customers have about the Waitrose brand and keep them returning again and again by earning their trust and loyalty for a lifetime.
Note: Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.
Additional pay: You will receive a shift premium for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, paid at the pay range minimum rate for your role.
Key Responsibilities
* Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place.
* Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.
* Reducing wastage through product due diligence and markdowns.
* Supporting the wider shop team, including checkout, Click & Collect, and on-demand orders.
* Maintaining a safe and tidy environment with shopkeeping tasks.
Essential skills/experience
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interactions.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Interest and knowledge in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch.
Part-time work (27.75 hours) on a 2-week rota: Week 1: Wed, Thu, Fri 20:45 - 07:00; Week 2: Thu, Fri, Sat 20:45 - 07:00.
