Role Overview
The School Nurse promotes good health and prevents ill health among young people, families, and communities. This involves raising awareness, identifying unmet health needs, and developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
The School Nurse works within a defined area, assessing needs, delegating, and supervising team work. They promote early intervention, health promotion, advocacy, empowerment, social inclusion, and aim to reduce health inequalities.
In partnership with young people, families, schools, communities, primary care, statutory and voluntary services, the School Nurse facilitates health-enhancing activities and influences health policies through community networks.
We provide a Duty Desk service for families with children aged 5-19 in these areas to ensure accessible, high-quality services.
