We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in based in Swindon, who are recruiting for a Repairs Manager on an initial a 3-month contract.
The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The daily rate of pay is negotiable up to £375.00 via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience heading a Repairs Service, delivery large scale projects on both corporate/domestic properties and ensuring budget adherence.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Managing large-scale and complex repair programmes, ensuring safety, legal, and quality standards are met
2. Controlling budgets of around £10m, and allocating staff, resources, and equipment to deliver efficient services
3. Leading procurement activity, commissioning, and managing external maintenance contracts and contractors
4. Applying technical expertise in building construction, property maintenance, compliance, and housing regulations
5. Managing and motivating operational managers, supervisors, and frontline operatives to achieve service standards
6. Providing visible leadership on site, spending most of the week in the field supporting teams and resolving issues
Experience required:
7. Experience with budgets circa £10m
8. Experience delivering a responsive repairs service
9. Experience with Contract Management
10. Experience in Contract Administration
Working hours:
11. 37.5 hours per week
12. Four days a week on site
13. Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
