Quality Engineer
Overview
JETMS Completions is an Aircraft Interiors company based at Biggin Hill Kent, London. Its main objective is to supply Design, Certification, Manufacture, and Installation of commercial and VVIP aircraft interiors to the aviation industry.
JETMS is a family member of Avia Solutions Group, the largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider globally, managing a fleet of approximately 221 aircraft. In addition to ACMI services, ASG offers a wide range of aviation solutions, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling, and more.
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our well-established EASA / CAA Part 145 and CAA Part 21, sub-part G organization. The Quality Engineer will be based at Biggin Hill Airport and ideally have been certifying staff position holder (Form SRG 1769). The successful candidate must be flexible and dedicated to our company’s progress and work within budgets and constraints applicable to a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conformity of outbound products and releasing on CAA/EASA Form One.
2. Development and maintenance of the Company Quality System policies and procedures.
3. Maintaining and updating the Company MOE, POE, and QMS.
4. Conducting and maintaining the company Quality Audit program.
5. Hosting Customer inspections.
6. Implementing and continuously improving the Quality and Safety System.
7. Maintaining the independence of the quality department(s) ensuring compliance with EASA regulations.
8. Maintaining current knowledge of EASA Part 145 and Part 21, Subpart G, and SMS Risk-based management.
9. Carrying out risk assessments including Health and Safety.
10. Negotiating with the CAA, EASA, and other airworthiness authorities on behalf of the Company.
11. Conducting investigations, compliance checks, and preparing reports on quality, technical, and maintenance issues as required to demonstrate compliance with regulations.
12. Auditing and monitoring of service providers/suppliers to ensure standards are met.
13. Leading RCCA activities using 8D methodologies for internal non-conformances, IORs, and MORs.
14. Acting as the onsite focal point for all communication regarding quality and health and safety matters.
15. Creating quality plans and reviewing inspection requirements to ensure compliance.
16. Maintaining calibration and tooling control.
17. Monitoring and updating KPIs/SPI’s.
18. Performing other duties as reasonably directed by the Accountable Manager or Quality Manager.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
1. At least 3 years of quality experience in aircraft interiors or a similar role.
2. CQI certificate or diploma in Quality assurance.
3. Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
4. Experience in aircraft component repair & manufacturing workshops.
5. Experience in management and quality control/assurance activities of aircraft maintenance and repair organizations.
6. Successful completion of a Quality Auditing Course (e.g., EN/AS 9100 Auditor/Lead Auditor).
7. Thorough knowledge of International and National Civil Aviation legislation, EASA, CAA.
8. Ability to prioritize and handle pressure.
9. Conformance to EASA / CAA Part 145, EASA 21 Sub Part G regulations.
10. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
11. Ideally from an interior component manufacturing background.
