We work closely with our partner agencies as we move towards integration of services allowing for greater flexibility of treatment options.

Applicants must have first level mental health nursing registration. Experience of working with people with substance use problems is required and should be reflected within the application.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of a caseload under the supervision of the team leader, providing assessment, care planning and treatment to people referred with substance use dependence problems.

You should be highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to manage a caseload and to organise your workload in an efficient and effective manner. You will also have the ability to function as an integral member of a team.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at

Informal enquiries should be made to Natalie Magowan, Team Leader on Natalie.magowan@nhs.scot or Linzi Stevenson on linzi.stevenson2@nhs.scot

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
