We are now recruiting for an Automation Maintenance Engineer at our Bristol Mail Centre, Gloucester Rd North, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7ST.
Contract: Permanent
Hours / Salary: To be confirmed at the offer stage
The successful candidate will follow the Bristol Mail Centre shift rotation system, with some voluntary flexibility to meet our 24/7 operational needs, including voluntary overtime and occasional shift pattern flexibility.
The Role
Responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of automation assets through effective maintenance procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Performing maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
2. Engaging in continuous improvement activities
3. Providing support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches, including completing end-of-shift reports, fault logging, and data entry
4. Identifying root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritizing corrective actions to meet operational requirements
5. Monitoring equipment performance and collaborating with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
6. Leading continuous improvement projects from conception to implementation for machinery in the Hub/Mail Centre
7. Working independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
About You
You should be an experienced multi-skilled engineer qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). You should understand Health & Safety legislation, have hands-on experience maintaining automation equipment, and possess a flexible approach with effective communication skills for complex issues.
You must hold a full UK driving licence, as travel to other sites may be required.
