Nijhuis Saur Industries is one of the UK's leading Water Hygiene/Treatment Companies. We provide cooling tower engineering and environmental solutions across the UK.
We are looking for Sampling Technicians on an ad-hoc basis. The Sampling Technicians will report to the Project Manager, carrying out sampling on wastewater treatment sites, bathing waters, and catchment rivers, in accordance with company procedures, and delivering samples to laboratories and depots in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Visit wastewater treatment sites and other sampling locations to take samples as per the sampling schedule determined by the Project Manager.
* Plan daily sampling routes to ensure cost-effective and timely sample collection.
* Ensure samples are collected following Company, South West Water, and Environment Agency procedures.
* Complete all necessary paperwork, including sample sheets, calibration records, and other site records.
* Install and download temperature loggers as required, ensuring temperature remains within the specified range.
* Carry out sampling in compliance with company Quality, Environmental, and H&S procedures.
* Transport samples to laboratories as needed, following set procedures.
* Clean and maintain sampling equipment and portable instruments.
* Perform routine calibration checks on portable instruments following Company procedures.
* Assist with other field operational activities as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
* Experience in wastewater and environmental sampling techniques.
* Commitment to developing and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues.
* Team-oriented and committed to self-development.
* Ability to exercise initiative while keeping the Manager and team informed.
* Clear and concise communication skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
