We are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver / HIAB Operator for a temp-to-permanent position based in Thornliebank, Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing construction business with the potential for long-term employment.
Pay & Benefits
1. £14.40 per hour for the first 39 hours
2. Overtime paid at time and a half after 39 hours
3. 5-day attendance bonus paid at your basic hourly rate
4. Average working week of 45–50 hours, depending on workload
5. Temp-to-perm opportunity with a well-established company
The Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of construction materials to sites using our tri-axle trailers, ensuring all loads are secured in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
The role will also involve operating our Class 2 Rigid HIAB vehicle, delivering and collecting plant and equipment from various sites.
Key Responsibilities
6. Transport and deliver construction materials safely and efficiently
7. Operate Class 1 and Class 2 HIAB vehicles as required
8. Ensure loads are correctly secured and compliant with regulations
9. Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
10. Complete delivery paperwork and transport documentation accurately
11. Comply with tachograph regulations, driver hours legislation, and health & safety requirements
12. Liaise effectively with site teams and the transport department
Requirements
Essential
✔ Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
✔ Valid Driver CPC Qualification
✔ Valid Digital Tachograph Card
✔ Good understanding of load security and transport compliance
✔ Clean driving licence
Desirable
✔ HIAB Certification
✔ Plant Loader/Securer Ticket
✔ Minimum 2 years’ industry experience
