As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead a technical area within the Commercial and Investment Banking Payments Technology team and drive impact across departments. Utilize your deep knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to lead multiple complex projects and initiatives, serving as a primary decision-maker and a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
In this role, you will promote impactful changes across teams and technologies, manage complex projects, and foster innovation. JPMorgan Chase processes payments averaging $10 trillion, representing 24% of the market. We are innovating with new payment methods like JP Coin, expanding into new markets, and enhancing settlement speeds with real-time payments. These advancements require sophisticated technologies to meet regulatory standards and sustain business momentum.
If you're passionate about solving engineering challenges with cutting-edge technologies, including AI and ML, join us in transforming regulatory reporting within the Payments sector. This role, based in the EMEA region, involves leading a team of 25+ professionals, including 3-4 managers, and aligning technology solutions with business growth across jurisdictions like the UAE. You will lead innovation, manage stakeholders, and inspire your team to achieve strategic goals.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead technology and process implementations to meet functional objectives.
* Make decisions influencing resources, budgets, operations, and process execution.
* Ensure governance over coding, control obligations, and success metrics such as cost, maintainability, and operations.
* Deliver scalable technical solutions across multiple business domains.
* Influence senior stakeholders and peer leaders across business, product, and technology teams.
* Champion JPMorgan's culture of diversity, equity, and respect.
* Possess deep expertise in cloud implementations and security controls.
* Adopt emerging technologies, including AI and ML.
* Implement reliable platforms with high availability standards.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Formal training or certification in software engineering with extensive practical experience.
* Proven leadership of cross-functional technological teams.
* Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
* Experience managing products as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
* Hands-on cloud experience.
* Expertise in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
* Deep knowledge of technologies like Pyspark, AWS, Databricks, Java.
* Experience with scaled platform implementations.
* Excellent communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
Additional Qualifications
* Experience coding at the technical level.

* Adept at working across multiple time zones.
* Subject matter expertise in payments.
* Masters or Ph.D. in relevant disciplines.
