General Operative - Specials Department
Location: Almondsbury, Bristol (BS32)
Pay Rate: £13.76 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Reporting to: Specials Manager
Gi Group are recruiting General Operatives to join the Specials Department within a market‑leading manufacturer of clay building products. This hands‑on, physically active position offers long‑term stability and the opportunity to develop new skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a General Operative, you will be involved in:
Hand‑crafting bespoke clay blocks to meet customer requirements
Transferring wet clay onto stillages
Building accurate brick firing stacks
Sorting fired bricks into packs ready for dispatch
Maintaining excellent housekeeping and adhering to all health & safety procedures
What We're Looking For
Excellent timekeeping and reliable attendance
Self‑motivated with a proactive, positive attitude
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Strong awareness of health & safety standards
Own transport is essential due to the site location
Desirable Skills (Not Essential)
Experience in a continuous improvement or manufacturing environment
Counterbalance FLT licence
Any relevant training or upskilling qualifications
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am - 3:00pm
