About the role
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our team in Telford. This role plays an important part in supporting business growth by building relationships, communicating with customers, and working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth and professional customer experience.
Rather than a purely sales-driven position, this role focuses on customer communication, coordination, data accuracy, and day-to-day commercial support. You will act as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, while gradually developing product knowledge and sales skills through structured onboarding and on-the-job learning.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, handling information accurately, and building long-term relationships, and who is open to developing commercially over time.
Key responsibilities
As a Sales Development Representative, you will:
1. Act as a first point of contact for existing and potential B2B customers (e.g. installers, contractors, distributors, wholesalers).
2. Support the external sales team through lead follow-up, information exchange, coordination of activities, and administrative support.
3. Maintain accurate customer and opportunity data in internal systems and reports.
4. Communicate with customers via phone and email to provide information, respond to queries, and ensure a positive experience.
5. Work closely with internal teams, including:
=> Marketing – supporting campaigns and handling incoming leads
=> Technical Support / After-Sales – passing on technical queries and ensuring issues are followed up
=> Logistics / Operations – supporting order tracking, deliveries, and stock-related questions
=> Finance / Accounts – assisting with invoicing or basic credit-related queries
6. Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with customer data, documentation, and internal processes.
7. Gradually build knowledge of products and services, with full training and support provided.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
8. Has strong verbal and written communication skills and enjoys speaking with people.
9. Is organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data and information.
10. Is confident using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic computer systems.
11. Enjoys working collaboratively and supporting others to achieve shared goals.
12. Can manage tasks independently and prioritise work effectively.
13. Is proactive, reliable, and willing to learn.
14. Speaks fluent English.
Previous experience in sales or business development is welcome but not essential. We are open to candidates from administrative, customer service, coordination, or support roles who are interested in developing commercially. A driving license is not required.
