We are working with a respected accountancy firm in Oldham with a longstanding client base and strong local reputation. They are looking for a confident and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys a varied workload and working closely with clients. Key Responsibilities: * Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies * Preparing VAT returns and submitting to HMRC * Reconciling bank statements and control accounts * Assisting clients with software queries (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.) * Supporting with management accounts preparation where required * Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships Requirements: * Proven experience working in an accountancy practice environment * Strong bookkeeping and VAT knowledge * Proficient in cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) * Excellent attention to detail and time management * Strong interpersonal and communication skills What’s on Offer: * Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience * A supportive and stable working environment * Friendly team with a collaborative culture * Opportunities for continued professional development * Office-based role with flexible working options considered If you’re a Bookkeeper who enjoys working with a variety of clients and values being part of a trusted local firm, we’d love to hear from you.
