About the role BP Pension Trustees Limited (‘the Trustee’) is the corporate trustee that manages the BP Pension Fund (‘the Fund’), one of the UK’s largest private-sector defined benefit schemes with assets of around £18 billion and 56,000 members. The Fund is closed to new entrants and future accrual, and day-to-day administration sits within our UK Pension Fund business unit (BPPTL). We are seeking a dynamic Scheme Events and Projects Manager to lead our in-house project management solution and the Scheme Events and Projects team in the pensions administration department. Reporting to the Systems and Projects Manager, you will oversee both one-off and cyclical projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and engage with internal and external stakeholders. This role offers broad exposure to the Fund’s activities and the opportunity to shape our project management framework. What you will do Create and deliver detailed project plans, updating them as requirements evolve Identify and allocate resources, assigning responsibilities to team members Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and events, ensuring efficient implementation with stakeholders Lead and motivate Scheme Events and Projects analysts, resolving issues and refining requirements Guide the professional development of analysts through coaching and feedback Maintain complete and up-to-date project documentation in our information repositories Prepare and present progress reports to project steering groups and sponsors Contribute to the definition and implementation of our project management framework Support the Systems and Projects Manager in executing broader management plans What you will need to be successful Proven experience managing and delivering projects with multiple stakeholders who may have differing priorities Background in pensions administration, investment consultancy, or an in-house role at a large pension fund In-depth knowledge of UK pensions regulation, administration and investment processes, and third-party supplier management Demonstrable experience managing and developing analysts Strong influencing skills to drive effective project delivery Experience testing processes and understanding system design/configuration implications Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail Outstanding verbal, written communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work accurately and in an organised way, including on sensitive or highly time-critical projects Desirable Project management qualification (e.g. Prince2) Why join us?
