Your new role
The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transport department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods or passengers. This role ensurespliance with all relevant transport legislation andpany policies, while leading a team of drivers and logistics staff to deliver high standards of service. Plan, coordinate, and manage transport operations to meet business objectives. Ensurepliance with transport laws, regulations, and health & safety standards. Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure fleet availability. Monitor transport costs and implement cost-saving initiatives. Recruit, train, and supervise drivers and transport staff. Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, driver hours, and fuel usage. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries. Investigate and resolve transport-related issues orplaints. Prepare reports and present performance metrics to senior management.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in a transport or logistics management role. Strong knowledge of transport regulations ( Driver Hours, Tachographs, Operator Licencing). Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proficient in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office. Ideally, a CPC would be preferred.
