About The Role
As a Senior Solution Architect, you will shape architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex, high-volume, mission-critical applications. You will design solutions across the Financial Services tribe that meet functional and non-functional requirements, combining custom-built software (primarily AWS) with external SAAS components.
You will analyse existing implementations (including legacy systems) and present options with design decisions, balancing long-term strategy with shorter-term business value. Roadmaps will define as-is and to-be states and transitional phases to achieve the target state.
Working with the Lead Architect, you will implement policies and standards guiding technology delivery, with substantial experience in modern, cloud-based standards and practices. You will assess 3rd-party providers to ensure security, privacy, data integration, performance and reliability.
You will address risks, issues and dependencies, including cross-team dependencies, and identify innovative ways to unblock issues while evolving the architecture.
The Senior Solution Architect contributes to strategic thinking, creates and adheres to technology standards, and leads technology selection. You will be part of the Solution Architecture team, collaborating with the Lead Architect within a Tribe. You will work with Product Managers, Delivery and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap aligned with commercial and technology goals.
You will mentor other architects, technical leads and engineers, and be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and stakeholders at all levels. You will navigate agile delivery and high-risk discussions within constrained timescales, and represent the community to internal and external audiences.
The role also focuses on promoting and leading the architectural vision inside the architecture team and across technology and business teams.
