Product Owner – Mobile & Digital Innovation
Duration: Initially for 3 Months
Location: Reading (hybrid 1 day per week)
Contract Type: Day Rate Inside IR35
Primark Technology is scaling fast and our mobile app is entering a major expansion phase. We’re looking for a Product Owner to help shape the next generation of our digital experience, driving repeat customer engagement through innovation, experimentation, and data‑led decision‑making.
If you have strong mobile app, e‑commerce, and data/analytics experience and you thrive in environments where you can test, learn, take smart risks, and deliver quickly this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
* Own the full lifecycle of your product(s): discovery → design → delivery → optimisation
* Lead mobile‑first product development, shaping features that drive engagement and repeat usage
* Prioritise the roadmap and backlog based on customer value, ROI, data insights, and commercial impact
* Use analytics to understand performance, define value, and measure outcomes
* Translate strategy into clear user stories, requirements, and sprint priorities
* Work with cross‑functional teams across engineering, design, data, and commercial
* Bring innovation thinking; test ideas, validate assumptions, and move fast
* Communicate complex technical concepts in simple, business‑friendly language
* Stay close to emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance the app experience
* Support agile ways of working and help embed product‑led practices across teams
What You’ll Bring
* 3–5 years’ experience in Product Ownership, Digital Product, or Technology delivery
* Strong background in mobile app product development and e‑commerce
* Experience using data and analytics to define value, prioritise work, and measure ROI
* Ability to operate in ambiguity, experiment, and take calculated risks
* Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
* Strong communication skills; able to translate tech to non‑tech stakeholders
* Experience working with multi‑disciplinary delivery teams
* A mindset focused on innovation, customer impact, and continuous improvement
