Finance ManagerFull-Time | PermanentUp to £35,000Join a Diverse & Growing Business GroupAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to join a well-established and expanding multi-sector based in Wakefield.This is a varied and hands-on role offering real responsibility, exposure across multiple businesses, and the opportunity to work closely with an experienced qualified accountant as the number 2 finance position.I am looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple priorities, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial information and operational support across a diverse group of companies.The OpportunityAs Finance Manager, you will play a central role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the group while helping ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and smooth operational processes across several trading businesses.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their finance career within a commercially focused environment where no two days are the same.You will also have direct management responsibility for a Credit Controller/Purchase Ledger Clerk and will work closely with senior leadership and directors across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & ControlsManaging daily cashbooks and bank reconciliations across multiple companiesProcessing and reconciling purchase invoices, including matching to purchase ordersSupporting month-end and year-end close processes across all ledgersPreparing reconciliations, reports, and financial analysisProcessing nominal journals including stock, sales ledger adjustments, petty cash, and write-offsManaging intercompany recharges and reconciliationsProcessing rebate and subsidy paymentsManaging supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepanciesOverseeing petty cash controls and reconciliationsReporting & AnalysisProducing sales representative reports and operational finance dataCarrying out margin analysis and identifying trends or anomaliesSupporting stock price adjustments and stock control processesAssisting with audit preparation and responding to year-end audit queriesSupporting financial reporting and management information for senior stakeholdersPayments & Ledger ManagementManaging 30-day payment runs and ad-hoc supplier paymentsOpening and maintaining supplier and customer accountsCreating and maintaining stock codes within the finance systemProcessing employee expenses and company credit card claimsTeam Support & Business OperationsProviding leadership and support to the Credit Controller/Purchase Ledger ClerkOffering cover and support for credit control and stock ordering functions when requiredHandling incoming telephone calls and finance-related email queries professionally and efficientlySupporting directors with ad-hoc projects, reporting, and operational finance tasksAbout YouI am looking for an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented finance professional who can confidently manage a varied workload and build strong working relationships across the business.Essential Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience within a finance or accounts management roleStrong knowledge of purchase ledger, reconciliations, and month-end processesExcellent attention to detail and accuracyExperience working across multiple ledgers or entitiesStrong organisational and time management skillsGood communication and interpersonal skillsConfident using finance systems and Microsoft ExcelAbility to work independently and manage priorities effectivelyExperience supervising or supporting junior finance staffDesirableAAT Qualified or studying towards qualificationExperience using Pegasus OperaExperience working within multi-company or group business structuresStock control or margin analysis experienceWhat's on Offer?Salary up to £35,000 depending on experienceDiverse and varied role within a growing business groupOpportunity to work closely with experienced senior finance leadershipSupportive and collaborative working environmentTPBN1_UKTJ
