Our Product and Technology teams are the Worldpayers behind the game-changing products and digital experiences we're best known for. Striving for better, they never stand still - delivering impactful innovations that power transactions across the world.
What you'll own
Working with the Development Manager and as part of the team you will be contributing with your own code to the team's delivery while providing technical leadership, helping other team members and ensuring the team delivers following sound engineering principles of software craftmanship.
You will also strive to advance the department and wider Developmentmunity by actively contributing to department initiatives and forums and by identifying and suggesting improvements to working practices.
Your responsibilities will be
1. Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code at an accepted level of quality
2. Produce system requirements and estimates from business requirements
3. Proactively identify and suggest improvements and enhancements to working practices to team and department level
4. Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering
5. Demonstrate a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change
What you bring:
6. Proven experience and/or a genuine passion for software development.
7. Degree level education (in related subject ofputing, math, science) or equivalent.
8. Knowledge/practical application of agile methodologies
9. Track record in delivering work to schedule and to specification
10. Experience of Software development Java, Oracle and Linux technologies
