Manufacturing Process Engineer
Our client, an aerospace company, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a 12‑month contract inside IR35, based in Broughton. This role is within the aerospace manufacturing sector and focuses on the Single Aisle programme.
Role: This is a key opportunity to support the manufacturing engineering function by preparing work to industrialise minor and major modifications for Single Aisle aircraft. The successful candidate will be competent in modifying aircraft supporting both mechanical and electrical systems, working as part of a multifunctional team.
Key Accountabilities:
* Translate design intent into technical instructions and manufacturing engineering data for aircraft detail manufacture, assembly, test and certification.
* Implement best practice methods, tools and processes from first principles to meet current and future business requirements.
* Deliver detailed work‑preparation definition (routings, BOMs, SOIs, STV calculations) for aircraft production.
* Ensure all work and documentation meets departmental procedural and regulatory requirements.
* Project manage detail manufacture, assembly, test and certification methods, tools and process improvements, including implementation strategies in accordance with business requirements.
* Evaluate capacity of the manufacturing process, enhance as required and recommend changes to the product design standard.
* Provide electrical/mechanical shop‑floor support to operations, supply chain and final assembly lines.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of lean principles.
* Experience with current business management tools, ideally SAP.
* Ability to operate from first principles in manufacturing disciplines and make daily technical decisions.
* Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering, design, and other business information systems.
* Experience in aircraft production, engineering methods and procedures.
* Understanding of relationships and interactions with other manufacturing engineering and business functions.
* Strong process‑driven background and engineer from a large manufacturing setting.
