At NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), theres no flow without you. As a Project Manager, youll play a vital part in delivering transformation projects that help save and improve lives across the UK. Working with senior leaders, operational teams and external partners, youll lead projects from start to finish, keeping them focused, well governed and on track. Youll balance time, cost and quality while managing risk, change and complex stakeholder expectations. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking responsibility and seeing work through to successful delivery. You may manage several projects at different stages and will help strengthen how we plan, govern and deliver change across NHSBT.
Main duties of the job
* Lead transformation projects from initiation through to closure, delivering agreed outcomes
* Plan, monitor and control project scope, schedules, budgets, risks and dependencies
* Communicate clearly with Project Boards, senior stakeholders and delivery teams on progress and issues
* Chair project meetings and produce clear, timely management information and documentation
* Manage resources effectively, including staff and suppliers not under your direct line management
* Monitor project finances, approve expenditure within delegated limits and maintain accurate forecasts
* Identify and manage risk and change, ensuring projects remain within agreed tolerances
* Work with internal teams and external suppliers to secure best value and effective delivery
* Ensure projects comply with NHSBT governance, procurement legislation and information governance requirements
* Contribute to continuous improvement of NHSBT's portfolio, programme and project management approaches

Qualifications
* PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification
* Degree qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience
Experience
* Significant experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, including change and risk management
* Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build trust with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
* Experience managing resources effectively, including those outside direct line management
* Strong financial management experience within a project environment, including budgeting and reporting
* Confident user of project management tools and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
