BW Flexible Systems is recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer with an in-depth knowledge in electronic, electrical and mechanical disciplines. This role is based in Nottingham.

About the role
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to our customers in a variety of methods across the regions and markets that we serve.
1. Conducting Installation and Commissioning of the equipment that we manufacture and supply
2. Executing in-field service maintenance contracts
3. Responding to equipment breakdowns – traveling to customers at short notice
4. Providing technical support – both in the field, and remotely
5. Delivering Training – to operators and engineers who use the equipment we supply
About the responsibilities
6. Work on a range of PLC and Motion control systems
7. Work away from home for extended periods
8. Conduct machinery checkouts and trials
9. Conduct customer acceptance trials
10. Assist in Product development
11. Carry out Installation and commissioning of the full range equipment we supply
12. Promote the sales of spare parts, upgrades, service contracts, training, new and pre-owned machines
13. Carry out training programs
14. Provide feedback from customers and competitive equipment
15. Contribute to the ‘out of hours’ technical support service as required
16. Undertake any other duties appropriate to your skill levels from time to time to meet the needs of the business
17. Complete all reporting requirements using tools and systems provided
About you
To be successful for the role of Field Service Engineer, you must have / be:
18. 5 GCSE’s grade C or above or equivalent
19. ONC or equivalent in a technical discipline, (electrical or electronic) or equivalent experience
20. A deep understanding and experience of fault diagnoses on packaging machines covering electrical, electronic and mechanical disciplines
21. Possess 5 or more years of experience in a related role such as an electrical or electronic technician, field service repair engineer, maintenance engineer
22. A strong all-round understanding of electro-mechanical equipment and assembly is essential
23. A proven record of being able to interact well with customers
Knowledge, skills and abilities
24. Diagnose faults using PLC logic
25. Take control of situations whilst providing a high standard of customer service
26. Have excellent electro/mechanical technical skills
27. Be able to read blueprints and schematics
28. Computer literate and proficient in all the common Microsoft Office tools
29. Fluent in spoken and written English
30. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to serving others
31. Have a history of working to deadlines and meeting business objectives
32. A full and clean UK driving license
33. Able to travel internationally up to 100% of the time, often at short notice

34. Multi-lingual capabilities in languages other than English may be advantageous
35. Looking for an opportunity to grow into a Field Service role with limited experience, but a strong technical background
About the hours & rewards
For the role of Field Service Engineer, there is a salary on offer a basic salary of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum plus overtime and benefits include:
