Job Purpose:
The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Flamingo’s health and safety strategy at the Stevenage site. Working under the UK Health & Safety Manager and as part of the wider Flamingo UK Health & Safety Team, the role ensures legal compliance, supports risk reduction, and drives continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Promote and support a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
2. Lead employee engagement initiatives, encouraging participation in near miss reporting and continuous improvement
3. • Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the UK SHE Management System
4. • Continuously develop, review and update SSOWs and associated health and safety training materials in line with industry standards and best practice
5. • Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe acts, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented
6. • Participate in joint Health & Safety meetings with Sandy and Weston sites
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
7. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within a manufacturing or operational environment
8. NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
9. Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
11. Full UK driving licence
