At Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), we’re looking for an SAP Technical Specialist to join our Information Systems team and provide expert-level technical guidance, system support, and configuration management across our SAP landscape.

Your role
As the internal technical lead for SAP, you’ll work at the heart of a dynamic team, ensuring our SAP systems deliver maximum performance and user satisfaction. You’ll be the primary contact for advanced troubleshooting, responsible for liaising with internal departments and our external SAP partners to resolve incidents, implement upgrades, and continuously improve functionality.
You’ll also play a key role in the wider strategic direction of our ERP platforms, contributing technical expertise to the evaluation and planning of future system replacements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Acting as a technical expert for SAP ECC and SRM, with hands-on experience across key modules such as Finance, HR, Procurement or Projects, and the ability to understand crossmodule dependencies.
* Diagnosing and resolving complex incidents, testing fixes in the QAS environment, and overseeing configuration changes.
* Working closely with users and business leads to optimise SAP functionality, improve reporting, and provide user-friendly guidance.

* Strong handson configuration and support experience in SAP ECC Finance (FICO) plus at least one of HR, Procurement (ECC or SRM), or Project Systems
* Proven technical troubleshooting experience and understanding of crossmodule integration
* Experience working as an SAP technical analyst in a support or configuration role
* Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, userfriendly guidance
* Experience collaborating with business users and external SAP partners to deliver effective system changes
Desirable Experience:
* Experience with ESS/MSS
* Exposure to SAP licensing, audit or compliance processes
* SAP certifications
* Experience producing documentation, knowledge articles or training content
* Experience with S/4HANA (especially where backed by ECC experience)
Qualifications:
* Degree in IT or equivalent professional experience
* SAP or ITIL certifications are welcomed but not essential

This is a fixed term role for 24 months with a salary of £47,539 - £52,886 per annum. Salary will be based upon skills and experience.
