Grimsby
Care Plus Group
Welfare officer
Posted: 27 August
Offer description

The Specialist Palliative Care Team is a health and social care team that provides expert clinical and social care services for patients with challenging and complex life-limiting diagnoses and their families. All senior team members act as clinical or social care experts, leaders, and educators within their service areas. The team offers services across all care settings in the North East Lincolnshire locality.

The social welfare team is a small, friendly, and busy team working with patients and families to maximise their income, alleviate poverty, and enable the best quality of life. They provide support to access benefits, apply for grants, and offer advice on issues such as housing, funeral poverty, and benefit appeals.

If you have a relevant degree, recent experience in a social welfare or advisory role, are a team player, enthusiastic about supporting individuals to maximise their income, and have good knowledge of the benefits system, funeral poverty, excellent IT skills, and the ability to complete complex calculations, this post could be for you.

You will need experience and the ability to network with other agencies, including voluntary, statutory, and charitable organizations. You will also contribute to the development of national agendas through the work of Macmillan Cancer Support and local integrated care systems.

Care Plus Group is an employee-owned social enterprise established in 2011, delivering NHS community health and social care services and employing over 800 staff. We value a positive culture based on trust, engagement, and staff involvement.

We deliver high-quality, innovative services across NE Lincolnshire, consistently achieving over 95% customer satisfaction. Our services have received national recognition and awards, including a HSJ award in November 2021. We hold the highest ISO accreditation and are committed to reducing our carbon footprint.

We offer excellent terms and conditions, including optional membership to a contributory pension scheme, lease cars, a comprehensive induction program, and extensive CPD/development opportunities. We recognize continuous service from partner health and care organizations for annual leave entitlement.

As an equal opportunities employer and a Disability Confident employer, we are committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults and will interview all disabled candidates who meet the essential criteria. We support family-friendly and flexible working arrangements.

The working hours are between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays, with no requirement to work weekends or bank holidays.

Salary Range 4 (£26,416 - £28,182) pro-rata per annum. You will be appointed at a fixed point within this range.
