Overview

The Housekeeping Assistant role at Avery Healthcare involves working as part of a team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the care home. The successful candidate will have knowledge of health and safety, experience in cleaning and laundry, and demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering a high-quality service to residents.


Main duties

As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will:

* Work as part of a team to maintain standards of cleanliness and laundry in the home, following the company’s standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry.
* Carry out cleaning duties and understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings, ensuring areas are well presented and in good condition.
* Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect, and their personal space and belongings are respected.

About the role

Your focus as a Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring hotel service standards are maintained.

Other responsibilities will include:

* Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
* Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
* Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

* Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
* Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.

* The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Please note this role will require:

* ADBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
