The Governing Body of Pontprennau Primary School are seeking to appoint two innovative, hardworking and committed persons to work in our dynamic and ambitious school as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant with responsibility for covering Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) of classroom teachers and additional classroom release time for school leadership activities.
We have a large nursery and two classes per year group for each year from Reception to Year 6. This role will require you to work across the entire school
The successful candidate will:
•Represent the school’s values and ethos;
•Demonstrate high expectations of themselves and of children to ensure all pupils reach their potential;
•Demonstrate a strong understanding of teaching and learning strategies to enable all pupils to make progress;
•Use assessment to support teaching and learning;
•Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including parents, carers, school staff, governors and other professionals;
•Demonstrate excellent positive behaviour strategies;
•Be able to work as part of a dedicated team providing insight, support and training;
•Use strong communication skills with all stakeholders;
•Have a strong understanding of the ALNET and an ability to support the learning needs of pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN);
•Contribute to whole school life;
•Have experience of long-term classroom cover;
•Have HLTA Status (or equivalent)
