You will report to the Head of HSEQ for your area. Supporting the site teams and managers through your inspections by recognising hazards, seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, environmental and quality standards. Championing HSEQ initiatives in the region whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote Occupational Health & Wellbeing Support the provision of Health & Wellbeing within the business, under the direction of the Head of HSEQ & HSEQ Director, with the support of the Company H&W AdvisorSupport the communication and promotion of the monthly themesPromote the value of occupational health at a regional levelHSEQ Advice and support to HSEQ AdvisorsProvide consistent and accurate HSEQ advice to Advisors and Site Teams where applicableRender support to the region on HSEQ initiatives/issues, and problemsProduce regional HSEQ statistics monthly, identify trends and take proactive initiativesLine manage HSEQ Advisors under your control and mentor them to allow professional developmentOffer support and focus to the site teams on our Be Right First Time initiatives and monitoring our Quality Control as defined by the HSEQ Systems & Audit ManagerCollaboration and Client Support Provide Client support for the region under your controlAttend Client HSEQ Forums as required, and provide lessons learnt feedback and sharing of best practicesForm collaborative relationships with Client HSEQ ManagementHSEQ Communications & HSE StatisticsContribute to and support company-level HSEQ communications and embed at the regional levelProduce and communicate HSEQ alerts following incidents and poor-quality standards to promote learning and prevention, and continual improvementSupport the Head of HSEQ for your area of the business in maintaining HSE performance statistics monthly as requested.Deliver awareness training and lead site standdownsAccident/incident investigationsSupport HSEQ Advisors and complete investigation reviews for HSE investigationsKeep local and corporate management informed on the statusIdentify root causesSupport the production of HSE alerts as aboveAct as an independent Investigator in other areas of the business under the direction of the HSEQ DirectorHSEQ MonitoringConduct regular visits to support your Advisory Team within the area of your controlPerform HSEQ Detailed Inspections monthly in your control with monthly targets agreed with your Head of HSEQ and or the HSEQ DirectorAct as a role model for HSEQ in the area under your controlMonitor HSEQ Advisor inspections and ensure findings are closed out on timeAgree on Advisor monthly inspection targets and monitor compliance Facilities Management at Company PremisesProvide management support for Facilities Managers at the regional company premises on HSE-related issues and provisionsMonitor HSE standards at the regional company premises and ensure legal obligations are being upheldEssential:NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent as a minimum, but ideally IOSHCEnv or equivalent as a minimum, but ideally associate ISEP (Institute of Sustainability &Environmental Practices)Extensive HSEQ experience within a civil engineering environment, experience in the rail sector would be beneficial, but is not essentialKnowledge of quality controls associated with company work activitiesAnalytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulationsHigh standard of written EnglishGood communication skills, including a professional telephone mannerPeople skills – ability to liaise with staff/operatives of all levels within BarhaleMS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPointEffective communicator with strong presentation and report writing skillsCSCS Safety Professional cardAble to work as a member of a team, but capable of working alone to tight deadlines as appropriateCommitment to Health, Safety, Environment & QualityDesirable:Level 3 AET or PTTLS preferred but not essentialWorking towards NEBOSH Diploma level 6Caring and investing in youOur values have been embedded at Barhale for over 40 years, and they are our guiding principles regarding how we care and invest in people.
