Salary: £155 - £220 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Drama Teacher for a full-time role at a secondary school in Sheffield, starting September 2025. This exciting opportunity offers the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in enriching students' learning through performance, creativity, and storytelling. You will guide students in developing their dramatic talents while helping them gain essential life skills such as teamwork, public speaking, and emotional intelligence. This is a chance to lead practical, fun, and expressive lessons that make a lasting impact on students both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities of a Teacher of Drama:
Teach Drama across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, following the national curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ acting, directing, and stagecraft skills
Prepare students for practical assessments and written examinations
Direct school productions, performances, or drama clubs
Foster a classroom environment that promotes imagination, confidence, and collaboration
Use varied teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Evaluate student progress and provide regular feedback
Promote cultural appreciation and creativity through theatre
Work collaboratively with other departments to support cross-curricular activities
Support whole-school events and enrichment opportunities related to the arts
Drama Teacher Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE in Drama or Performing Arts, QTLS etc.)
Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related subject
Experience teaching Drama in a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for theatre and performance
Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
Willingness to contribute to school life through extracurricular activities and performances
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
