SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER Birmingham New year, new job. Are you a Senior Civil Engineer with strong Section 278 and highway design expertise looking to take a lead role in Birmingham? This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to step into technical leadership within a respected independent consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and development projects. You will be based in the Birmingham office, working closely with a regional highways team while contributing to projects across the Midlands and further afield. The workload includes local highway improvements through to major residential and commercial schemes, supporting clients wherever their developments are located while remaining anchored to a strong local base. The role As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take ownership of technical delivery while supporting team development and project performance. Key responsibilities include: * Leading the design and delivery of S278 highway schemes and associated works * Producing and reviewing designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and junction design software * Ensuring compliance with DMRB, Manual for Streets and LTN 1/20 * Coordinating with local authorities, National Highways and developers * Leading drainage design input and adoption processes for S38 and S104 * Mentoring junior engineers and overseeing quality and standards * Supporting fee proposals, bids and technical reporting About you This role suits a confident Senior Civil Engineer ready to lead. You will ideally have: * A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent * Around 8 years' UK consultancy experience * Strong experience delivering S278 access junction designs * Familiarity with local authority and National Highways processes * Proven leadership, communication and report-writing skills Eligibility to Apply Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
